My Role

Video Editor | Shooter | Reviewer | News Writer

GamePro is really where I got my start. It was an incredibly wild experience, as I had grown up reading GamePro and getting the chance to be a part of that storied place and work with such cool passionate people is something I still look back on very fondly.

I was brought in by a dear friend of mine, Will Herring, who first got me a gig writing some game reviews and after a time, they liked my writing enough to bring me on as a news writer for their daily news beat. One day, as chance would have it, their main video producer, Chris Parisi, was leaving on vacation and needed someone to man all the video production. He had heard I had gone to film school and asked if I could watch over things while he was away. And so, in a real trial by fire, I jumped in and took over all the video production while he was gone. That meant filming and editing all of their web shows, editing and uploading all of their video reviews and manning anything else that required video (which was a lot).

I guess I did ok, as when Chris returned, he told me, "You're working for me now." So, from that day on, I was making videos for GamePro and learning a ton in the process. I got to go to E3 and GDC as a press videographer, experience the whirlwind and spectacle of gaming media and also, not only contribute to their ongoing web programs, but create my own show with Will called The Bargain Bin, which we were very proud of.

It was an incredible experience and it forged a path for me in the gaming world, but also in making videos with insanely quick turnarounds and creating work that is kinetic and fun.

Sadly, GamePro was shut down in 2011 and with it a lot of the great work we put together. But, I still have a few videos left from that time for any who are interested. Thanks for everything GamePro, but more importantly, thanks to all the amazing folks I got to work with there.
